Inaugural lecture on the occasion of the appointment to Professor at the Hague University of Applied Sciences. Technology has made it possible to do more in less time. And therefore we want, and need, to do more in less time. To accomplish this we hurry, but foremost feel hurried. The these that we can solve the problem by “un-hurrying” is too simple. The hurry originates because we are busy in the present to choose the future and to keep the past. This lecture was the origin of the book Rhythm.
