Perhaps in no other country in the world is philosophy as important as in the Netherlands. This is partly due to the Month of Philosophy, which was established 25 years ago this year. The Thinker of the Netherlands, the annual essay, the Socrates Cup for the best philosophy book, and many other activities transformed the image of philosophy from "stuffy academic" to "at the heart of society" and even "hip."
